I've been writing grant proposals for more than 30 years and I wake up every day excited about the next challenge the position will bring. I have my own small grantwriting firm, so I'm typically the "hired pencil" who comes in when the in-house staff is up to their ears in alligators and the sumbission date is looming. If you enjoy a good adrenaline "rush" on a consistent basis and aren't easily overwhelmed, this can be a great career.
