I not only enjoyed writing grant proposals, I enjoyed the entire process of investigating the prospective grantor's leadership and determining which member of my board would make the most effective "quaterback" for my proposal. However, board members or executive directors can be major causes of burnout when they have unreasonable expectations or don't understand the process. Consultants can be harbingers of pain also, when they undermine you by telling your boss that the money is out there but you know better! Private foundation proposals are much more fun to write because many still allow for individaul creativity. I hate application forms! Rick
