Like in any job, your boss and co-workers are going to have a huge effect on your day-to-day feelings about the job, as is the organization itself and whether or not you believe in what it is doing. Don't overlook those factors when considering whether or not take a grantwriting job. Overall, yes, I do love grantwriting. I have a love for writing and crafting sentences, which helps. I also like grantwriting because to be an effective grantwriter I think you have to probe into every corner of the organization -- you have to understand the finances, how the Board works, and all the programs run by your organization. As someone who's inquisitive and likes to learn, it's a great excuse to gain a deeper understanding of the role and mission of my organization, and gain insight into community needs that we are striving to address.
