Dear Donna,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy to lose a beloved friend, but it is a different kind of pain that we feel when we have to make the decision to let them go. Please believe though, that you made the most loving, unselfish decision you could ever make for Franny. Even knowing how much it was going to hurt you, you made the decision to let her go, and let her rest. She is at peace, and she is not in pain any longer. I know the decision to let her go would not have been an easy one to make, but it was the most loving thing you could have done for her.
After giving you 10 wonderful years, she'd earned the right to go in peace, knowing that she is loved, and that you would not have her in pain just to keep her with you longer.
Right now, you are feeling only the pain of her loss. In time, you will be able to look back and know, without a doubt, that you did the right thing. Our little furry friends cannot ask us to let them go; they count on us to be their voice when the time has come. You spoke for your Franny, and I know that she is grateful to be at peace, and without pain now.
I know it is only words right now, but I do hope that you can take some comfort knowing that you are not alone, and that we are here for you.
Sending you a hug,
Laurien
