Hi Patti,
Shelby...what a pretty name for a kitty! I'm sure Shelby takes some comfort in smelling Spunky...she would be able to smell in his scent that he was a happy, content, and loved kitty. Cats can sense and smell things like fear and anger, so you can relax knowing that she is only smelling a household that she can relax and love in.
The tears are going to keep coming, and often when you least expect them to. But they are all part of this awful grieving process that we must go through so that we can get to the happy memory part of this.
