Hi Louise,
I'm sorry to hear that Ginger isn't bouncing back as quickly as you had hoped. I agree with William...follow the vet's advice and give her a bit of time. I don't know Ginger's thyroid situation, but my cat, Chaussette, is on thyroid meds for an overactive thyroid. Before we got her on meds, she was losing weight and constantly eating, but continued to lose weight. We got her on the meds, and I do recall that they took a few days to kick in. In the 3 years she's been on the meds, we only just recently had to adjust her dosing. And I do know that it took a few days before she seemed to really improve. Ginger's lack of appetite may simply be from the medication adjustment not going into effect yet.
I'm glad that you are spending this time with her...you will know when her time has come. Until that time comes though, treasure the time you have left, and fill your days with your precious girl. Sounds like you had a lovely day together today...enjoying the fresh air on your balcony would have been a treat for her I'm sure!
We are here for you Louise.
Please, keep us posted.
Sending you a hug,
Laurien
