Hi,
Some very sad news, Jippy took a turn for the worse on the weekend, I guess I realy knew that it was coming. He was moaning and groaning every time he moved, and kept going to the front door (pee is out the back door) - then I remembered that when his time has come, a dog will try to leave the family. Every time I called him back into the living room, he was back at the front door within 15 minutes.
He had liquid stools on Sunday evening, slept poorly and only ate half of his breakfast - VERY unlike him. By then, I had already called the vet to come to my home at 2:00 PM. Late morning he starting panting/ chuffing - a sign of heart and lung failure.
So, at about 2:00 PM on Monday, cuddled with him mommy and his sister, Jippy went to a better place.
I know I made the right choice, and I was okay for the first two days, but today, I am really starting to miss him. I keep expecting to see him out of the corner of my eye, but I turn and he's not there. This morning, I remembered his 'hidden' bed for thunderstorms hidden in the back of my walk in closet - guess that also made it all the more real.
I plan to come to the group meeting on Saturday, 25th. Though my friends and coworkers have been very kind, I'm sure some of them think, 'it was just a dog'...but Jippy certainly was much more to me than that.
That's enough for now, I may post again later....
Thanks for listening..kind smiles to you...
