Dear Patt,
I am so sorry that you are going through this difficult time. Knowing that a loved one is near the end is so hard.
Your vet would be a good resource to check regarding cremation services. You may also want to check with local animal shelters. I found a Mississauga Animal Services website that offers special cremation, but you have to phone for prices and details. Their number is 905-896-5864
I personally had my cat cremated through the Oakville Humane Society, and they were very respectful and kind. I'm not sure what's closest to you, so again, I would check with a veterinarian. Even if you don't have a regular vet, I imagine that most clinics would be very willing to answer your questions.
Also, Patt, if you are looking to actually talk to someone in this time of need, there is a number you can call, and someone will call you back.
The Mississauga number is 905-272-4040. This is the Scott Funeral Home, and when you call, you just tell them that you'd like to leave a message for the Pet Loss Support Group, and someone will call you back.
I will be thinking of you and your precious Devo...
Laurien
