Hi Patt,
I'm so sorry to hear about Devo. We had to put our cat, Cuddles, to sleep two weeks ago. It was very sudden and extremely difficult.
I had to do some quick research on what options are out there, but in the end we had our vet take care of everything. I'm not sure how much the total was (My husband took care of that. It was somewhere between 300 and 450.), but we had her privately cremated. We will have her ashes in a nice box with a clay print of her paw. My parents live in Durham Region and offered to have us bury her in their garden alongside mementos of my late grandparents. Peel Region might be different, but I know here in GTA it is not legal to bury an animal so there aren't any pet cemetaries. We rent and live near downtown, so burying her ashes here is not an option.
I am very sorry that you are having to go through this.
Regards,
Pam
