Hi again Sue,
So glad to hear from you! You've been on my mind the last few days, and I wondered how you were doing since the return of Sarah's ashes. I remember how sad an occasion that was for me, but it was healing and comforting as well. I had hoped you would find it that little bit comforting as well.
I'm glad that you are able to share with your husband the happier memories...in time, those will be the ones you think of first, rather than the sad ones.
As far as burying the ashes, that is something that you may want to take your time about deciding. The comfort you are feeling from having the lovely urn nearby may be reason enough to put off the decision until you are not ruled so much by emotions. For me, the decision not to bury the ashes was a relatively simple one...my husband and I rent the house we live in, so burying Poubelle somewhere that we knew we would leave was not an option for us. By not burying him, we've ensured that he will come with us, wherever we go. That may be something that you want to consider as well.
I can totally relate to you talking to Sarah/her bed. There is a relief in being able to say out loud the things you are feeling, and I know that for me, just being able to say "I love you Poubelle" out loud made me feel much better.
Poubelle's been gone 2 and a half years now, and to this day, I speak to his urn whenever I feel the need. It helps!
Again, glad to hear from you, and glad we've been of some comfort to you.
Anytime, Sue, anytime!
Hugs,
Laurien
