Hi Sue,
I'm so sorry to hear about your girl, Sarah. My husband and I are waiting to see if we will have to put our beloved cat, Cuddles, to sleep. This is the most excruciating thing I have ever gone through in my entire life. I am in my late 30's, and everything I have gone through up to now has paled in comparison to the agony and guilt I feel from this.
Please don't feel guilty. You did what was right and kind. You had her to sleep in a place that she loved and felt loved. What your vet did was inexcusable. He should feel guilty, not you.
When I read your words I related so much, especially how your home is empty and your heartbreak is unbearable. I said those exact words to my husband tonight as we were bawling to each other.
I'm sorry if my words are not uplifting to you. I just wanted to tell you that you are not alone in your heartbreak. This is so much harder than when a close person dies, because our animals live with us, and play such a big part in our lives. I understand your grief, and I'm thinking of you and your dear girl, Sarah.
Pam
