Hi Pam,
I am really glad you found this board and told us about your cat. I can only imagine how difficult today is going to be for you. Coming from someone who had to put a beloved friend to sleep (my dog Rocky who was 18 years old), it is definitely not an easy decision. The feelings you are having are completely normal. It is natural to wonder if it's the right time and to have feelings of guilt. It sounds like your little girl has had a huge impact on your life and my best advice is to listen to your heart. Even though it will be hard, you will know when it's time. Your vet will probably have some good advice based on the blood test results and will be able to tell you if she is in pain and what her quality of life is.
Your sweet kitty knows that you and your husband love her dearly and she also knows you will be able to make the best decision for her. It will be heartbreaking to do, but it will be the most selfless decision with your baby's best interests at heart.
I am so sorry to hear about this difficult situation that you are faced with but we are always here if you want to talk some more about what you are feeling. We have all been where you are and know how hard this is for you.
Please come back and let us know how the vet appointment goes today.
I'll be thinking about you, your husband and both your cats today...
Stephanie
