I am so sorry that today has been so tough. The anniversaries are never easy. I recently marked the one year anniversary of losing my dog Rocky and it was really difficult. I'm not sure that day will ever go by without some sadness. I don't think it is such a bad thing to mark the anniversary of losing Ebony. She obviously had such a huge impact on your life and it's completely understandable that today would be mixed with sadness at the thought of not having Ebony with you anymore and some degree of happiness as you look back on all those wonderful years of memories that you guys shared.
I think Ebony would be really proud of you for thinking about one day opening up your heart to love another furbaby. You were obviously a wonderful mom who loved your little girl and Ebony was as lucky to have you as you were to have her! You'll know when the time is right and when that time comes, the new baby you bring home will be very lucky. And don't worry, Ebony will be watching over you and your new furbaby because she will be happy that you found each other.
I'm hoping today was not too difficult and I'm glad that you posted to let us know how you are doing. We are always here to listen if you want to talk.
