It is so good to hear from you again! I am very glad to hear that the message board was able to offer some comfort when you needed it... that's what we're here for! I can't believe it's been so long since you lost your sweet Tequila. I can relate though. I was just thinking the other day that it has been 9 months since I lost my sweet boy Rocky. The time has passed so quickly and I can still remember that day as vividly as the day it happened.
And you're right, Christmas won't be the same this year for me either. I think the first year is extra difficult as you mark all of those "firsts" that you won't share with your baby again. I think it's really great that you are able to look back on those great memories of the years you shared with Tequila and cherish those stories instead of constantly being overcome with the sadness of your loss. And don't worry about those days when it hits you... we all have those. It's just natural, especially if something triggers a memory when you are not expecting it to.
Your new furbabies are very lucky to have you and Tequila is so proud of you for being able to open up your heart to them. You were a great mom to her and I know you will be a great mom to the new little ones as well.
Again, thanks for writing to let us know how you are doing! We would love for you to come to a meeting to share your memories of Tequila in person if you ever get the chance. And if not, you can always post here if you need to talk.
