On October 19th, it will be one year since Sammy’s been gone. It’s hard to believe that four seasons have gone by without him. It’s hard to believe the holidays that have gone by without him.
It’s so different to look around my house and see all that has changed since he was here- just one year ago. We have a new cat, Cricket, who has grown from a tiny kitten to a large adult- seems like she’s been with us for such a long time. We have a new puppy, Spencer, who is getting big as well. They take up most of my time and attention, and our house revolves around them. When I consider all of these new stages, it’s very strange to realize that they have taken place without Sammy being here. Nothing is the same at his home, since he was the one who took up all of my time and attention - just one year ago. I wish he was here.
