I completely believe you got a sign from Mickey. I had a similar experience shortly after my dog Rocky passed away earlier in the year. When I told people, they thought I was completely crazy but I know it was Rocky's way of letting me know he was doing fine. As Rocky got older, he began shedding in clumps... they were these coarse triangle-shaped clumps of white hair and every day when I took him outside, he would inevitably leave clumps of hair either in the hallway or in the elevator in my apartment building. Shortly after Rocky died, I kept seeing a clump of his hair in the elevator when I left in the morning. It happened for a few days, a week at the most, and it made me feel really good. People would tell me it was a coincidence and that it was from another dog but in my heart I know it was Rocky. If you have any doubt about these signs, you should read the book "Animals and the Afterlife" by Kim Sheridan. It talks a lot about signs our departed pets give us and believe me, you are not alone. Reading that book helped me to confirm what I was thinking.
I am so glad Mickey was able to communicate with you in a way that he knew you would understand. I know how much that can mean. I am so happy for your chipmunk present!
