My two MinPins, Rocky & Rudy, were on the Natural Balance pet food that was recalled. Both have been tested as having kidney problems and now Rudy has been at the pet hospital since Saturday. His kidneys are shot and we are waiting for tests for indications of pancreatic failure.
I'm pretty sure that this will be his last day with us. He was my first dog and we rescued him from the Humane Society. He was my inspiration for making a career change to become a Professional Dog Groomer. I know that putting him to the rest will be the best thing to allieviate any further suffering but I have no idea how to explain to my 3 year old son what has happened to Rudy. He keeps asking and we say that he's at the hospital. I don't know if he's going to understand the concept of death and my husband doesn't want to use the word 'died'.. he thinks it's too harsh for him.
