If I'm marketing another RR, and I can offer a transload / warehouse option to the mill with my RR, I can poach a customer. Likewise if I have a mill on my railroad, I can tip them off to go see the receiver and have them maybe switch to the mill on my RR.
The mill you are watching appears to be doing a decent number of carloads with the same customer based on the cars I traced. Enough to make it worth looking into. A couple cars a month, no big deal posting info.
Does it make sense now?
I manage inbound cars for a customer. When it is a couple cars a month, no one is going to try for that business. Make it a couple cars a week, now that's worth pursuing for a transload especially if you can cut out 1 RR.
