GAP Route - HO scale
My model railroad fills the gap between the Pennsy at Mackinaw City (1960 era) and the Algoma Central in Sault Ontario. Its imagined route starts with a ferry to St Ignace (built from a movable tool cart), then eastward to Cedarville and a connection to the actual quarry. From there it heads straight north to Pickford, Sault Ste Marie and across the bridge (through the wall) into Sault Ste Marie Ontario ending in a yard of the Algoma Central. It's an "around the wall" layout that runs 107 feet point to point thru two rooms of my basement. I used to wonder why such an actual railroad never existed, so finally I built one myself, just to a much smaller scale than 12" = 1'.
