The Mineral Range operates from Humboldt to Ishpeming. Last year maybe 9 miles of track was re-installed to the old Humboldt Mine location The new operation is called Eagle Mine. I believe they also lease a track or two in Hogan Yard in Ishpeming. Copper & Nickel are shipped out to smelters. Some of this traffic goes east to the SOO and some south through Green Bay.
The CN does not go as far as Iron Mountain. It serves a large Verso paper Mill in Quinnessec. A third party provides the mill switching.
Yes, the E&LS stores cars on the Sidnawa-Nestoria line. All the placements and removals take place at the Sidnaw end.
Until about a year ago the E&LS was storing cars between Channing and Witch Lake. A train-truck reload is now in place at Floodwood. Loads of cement are the main commodity. Last year there was also some iron ore from Empire mine loaded into gons at Floodwood.
