The southbound had 6 empty wood cars on the head end so this meant there would be a set-out in Abrams. Upper Michigan content: All of the wood that loads in Abrams goes north to the LP OSB mill in Sagola, MI.

It has been a few days since the E&LS has been in town and the CN has 168 cars on hand for the 500 & 1338. Most of the cars were sand cars for storage. YDM mentioned to the E&LS crew that there were another 100 en-route. E&LS also has about 70+ sand cars sitting out at Lineville Road in Howard where the connection to the CN joins the E&LS tracks.
The E&LS has been coming into GB around twice a week. Over the last month or so inbound storage car traffic has been heavy. The sand cars are interesting because they sometimes come in one week and then head back out a week or two later. Plus many of the cars are brand new:

About a week ago or so there had been about 105 "coventional" covered hoppers sitting at Lineville for a week or so. But, the E&LS had a lumber load interchanged to them for WBS at Bond St. So, light power came down from Crivitz and pulled the storage cars north so the next job to GB could get to WBS.
So, that is what has been going on around here.
