Re: Tearing up the rail in Ontonagon
This might be a dumb question, but why did they not run some sort of equipment up to Ontonogon to pull the rails and other track structure back after they pulled it out. It would make more sense to have a string of equipment pulling the track and then have it easily loadable onto a gondola rather than truck it however far. The only reason I can think of is the possibility the railroad uses the remaining portion as a car storage line, thus blocking access to the line.
