Re: Any schedule to CN activity around Gladstone/Escanaba?
Well, I had a change in plans last minute and ended up catching a ride up to the wedding. Unfortunately, that put us in the area after dark Friday night, but I was able to catch the yard switcher with the little slug unit in the yard in Gladstone. Saturday I was busy all day so I didn't catch any action, but Sunday morning before we left, I caught a train coming into Gladstone as the hotel we stayed at had the main line right across US41/US2 from it. It's the first time I believe I've ever seen a six axle locomotive as I live some distance from the Class 1's. I'm pretty positive it was a pair EMD SD70's, not sure if M-2 or ace's. It was stopped in the Gladstone yard on our way out of town so I'm assuming a crew change was happening and it would probably continue on to SSM. So at least I got to see one train on the trip.
