You looking for real time, historical or both? Unfortunately there are historical remnants all over the UP. The fun there is finding them. One good stop is Trout Lake. Trains literally in people's back yards.
But it is a hit or miss deal with catching activity.
Otherwise, the area west of Marquette (iron range) is very active. Haven't been to the Gladstone/Escanaba area in years but I remember there was plenty then. You need a yooper to advise on that one.
For historical searches get an old Michigan Atlas and Gazeteer which will show the exact locations of old lines long gone.
