I don't know the reason for the full heralds on those three cars. As for the 9000 series boxcars they were gone by the time I came to work here in September 1991. I have a January 1988 Equipment Register that shows them still on the roster. Also, you asked in a previous thread why some of the 50000 series cars were painted brown? About the same time that they went thru the shops, we were working on a contract and re-painted TSRD boxes brown. I surmise that we had paint left over and the 50000s ended up with the surplus paint applied to them. Some of those same TSRD boxes are now in storage here.
