Only cars with ELS reporting marks should be listed as ELS cars. The other cars may have been in the pool of cars for the mill(s) and the "return to ELS Agent in Channing" insured the cars returned for loading at the mill(s). The conductor didn't need a switch list (started pre computer days) to determine the destination of an empty - it's was stenciled on the side of the car.
