As far as I know, the ore from the Iron River area always went to Escanaba for loading into boats. The ore from the Gogebic Range (Ironwood, Bessemer area) went to Ashland Wisconsin. Of course the ore from the Marquette range always went to Marquette for boat loading. Great pictures by the way. At one time the Milwaukee Road and the C&NW pooled their power from the Menominee Range (Iron Mountain, Crystal Falls, Iron River area) and you can see that in the first picture.
