One of their engines, a 2-6-2 is on display in the town of Nahma. When was there in 2006 I also noticed a rail still in place across one of the dirt roads near the old mill site. Many years ago it was still possible to follow the roadbed at the interchange with the Soo Line in Nahma Junction.
I have seen a picture where you could hardly see the mill because of all the piled up logs everywhere. At the end the mill was operated by American Playground Company which used wood for swingseats, teeter-totters etc. Those were days long ago. Everything is plastic now.
It must have been an interesting operation. I envision the train leaving Nahma with boxcars of lumber for the junction and then continuing on with empty log flats for the logging camps further north. The return trip would bring back logs for the sawmill, stopping at the junction again to pick up more empty boxcars for loading with lumber.
