Mark, what is the location of that shot? The maroon paint and footboards would indicate the mid-1970's, and LS&I U-Boats made their way onto a variety of roads about then. I've seen pictures of them at Flat Rock on the DT&I, on the CNW, and I remember seeing maroon U23C's at the Soo Line roundhouse in Marquette and on a freight crossing the Soo's trestle over the Pesheekee (puh-SHEE-kee) river on a summer camp canoe trip as a kid---maybe '74 or '75.
