Wanted to pass along some photos taken this morning. Not sure if the derailment was today or yesterday, but found out about it this morning and took a drive up between Gladstone and Brampton, MI to see it. About 14 cars involved, two cars were standing on their couplers. A large derailment by what I have seen in the past few years. Train was northbound with limestone for the Empire Mine. The engine is facing Escanaba, presumably to bring the cars still on the rails back.
Main part of derailment. You can see a rail to the left of the limestone car
Second part of derailment, cars falling off the west side
This loader pulled the half loaded car upright, then over on its top and drug it up by the road. Didn’t even phase it
Engine facing Escanaba. You can see the cars on the right side of the train
