August 27 2001, I was able to photograph the MLO. I followed one train up to the loading area on the north end.
When we got there the crew was told that the "gates" in the loading shute had stuck open and the cars inside were buried,
and would have to be dug out!
I was able to take a few photos before I had to get going. Wished I would of taken more and asked more questions.
I apologize for the scan stains, my scanner is junk, time is getting near to replace it.
Its been some years now, wonder how much has changed.
The crew did tell me they used 100 ton cars while Port Inland used 50 ton cars. Thats why the MLO had shorter train sets.
