The MIGN flourished with overhead traffic, even before the embargo. And that with ferrying it across the lake 30 cars at a time. Was still faster than trying to get through the quagmire that was Chicago at the time. Now Chicago is much more fluid, so the extra route miles to run traffic around the lake may not still have the same shine, even if it was a simple bridge crossing. But, it would be really cool to see 100 car trains running through Gaylord and Petoskey. Cool for a few of us maybe, but not the general public tho. Yes, we will never know... Bill
