Re: Example of Grip
I used to carry three bags. My grip, which held all my books and other railroad paraphernalia, my overnight bag, which held my necessary gear for staying in the hotel overnight, and my lunchbox. This made changing crews very frustrating, loading all this gear on and off an engine. And if you had to walk a ways down the ROW to get to your train, made you one sore puppy by the time you got there. Thankfully the CN decided to give us an electronic rule book. This little Zebra handheld computer contains all our rule books, for every railroad we traverse. I now carry one grip, which is essentially my overnight hotel gear, and most of my food fits in there too. Life on the railroad is so much lighter now!! Bill
