GLC in TC"
I don't know- they are upgrading the track all the way to Beacon Recycling (the passenger train would not go this far on the Grawn Branch). And even out on the Williamsburg branch (again no passenger trains would go out that was unless the casino made some arrangement as they have discussed in the past). I will say the track along Keystone where it was really bad (not ND&W bad, but) looks SUPER compared to this spring before the work started. Much smoother, very well ballasted, I mean it looks like mainline railroading now. They have been doing a TON of work both at the depot (currently a micro-brewery) on the main and the runaround track (they were working in there this weekend and Boardman Yard, as well as on the main along Keystone). And what really surprised me is in Boardman Yard- not only did they upgrade the main, they also dug up the runaround track (almost 1/2 mile long) and it now looks like a main! Which is odd as GLC normally uses the runaround at the depot- so I've been curious as to why the much longer runaround in the yard was rebuilt. MDOT still owns property all through the yard- so heck, they could build a new depot there. But that still doesn't explain the heavy investment in the Grawn branch... Also, the 10 SGVY hoppers are STILL in TC in two separate blocks for some unknown reason. 3 weeks now at least. Maybe they are kidnapping them! LOL.
