I just read thru the blab on "the other site" concerning the LSRR interchanging with CN....I applaud your knowledge of this topic. I'm still not convinced myself that any of these movements are taking place...I clearly receive all CN scanner traffic, and am slowly catching on to the LSRR scanner traffic as well. While I'm obviously not home 24-7 every day, up to now, I've heard nothing confirming any movements west from Belsay to Torry by LSRR trains. CN is currently operating Flint sub "Positive Train Control Engaged" mode. LSRR is not. Seems to me that there would be an issue there. Also, you are correct about the Longway exchange track(s) still being connected there. The northern most track is indeed out of service, but that track was formerly used as an access track to the now dismantled AC/Delphi power plant located on the northwest corner of Averill Ave. Also, this track was used to service entrance to the AC/Delphi plant trackage that ran on the south side of the plant that was there. Some of that plant still exists and is being renovated by some big company for warehousing, but there is currently no plant trackage there. The three remaining tracks are still in service, with the center one being used for daily train service. I can offer a 4th exchange possibility, maybe there has been some negotiating going on with the three railroads involved, and maybe a couple of trial movements were done to test the feasibility. I'm waiting on my CN connection to get back with me to see if he knows anything else. He may be on vacation. At any rate. as things progress, I assume we'll get it all figured out. I'm just as interested in this as everyone else.
