West Michigan Railroad

Wondering how West Michigan Railroad makes money or even how it makes any sense for them to serve customers who have their cars spotted literally right next to the CSX interchange track. Seems with one less railroad involved (WMI), CSX could just let those shippers transload on the interchange track (or near), saving them from having to share revenue with WMI. I canít imagine WMI makes much after expenses of firing up their locomotive, running it from behind the warehouse a couple miles up the track to move cars a few hundred feet. At the least, seems a trackmobile kept by the transload is all that is needed if WMI feels the need to stay in the game. Just my thoughts, but I may be missing something.
