Speculating CSX Trackage Sales

It's been a week now since CSX announced it's desire to shed 8000 miles of trackage within it's system. Included in the "bucket list of desires" if you will is the sale of all remaining trackage in Michigan that once was the pride of the Pere Marquette. Being retired, with lot's of free time for things to move around inside my brain, I have come up with my rendition of what I think will happen here in Michigan when these spin-offs occur. First off, I feel very confident that, Lake State RR will be the biggest winner. I see them getting CSX trackage from Flint to Plymouth, with the existing CSX trackage rights on CN to Port Huron, where they will gain the St. Clair Sub. This would be a big deal for Lake State. They have been quietly adding locomotives, and upgrading their existing trackage. This to me means something "suspicious is in the works. Next, I see GLC getting trackage from Ann Pere east to Plymouth, and west to Lansing. I see this as a good viable move by them. Lansing west to Grand Rapids will go to Grand Elk. Makes very good sense to me for them to grab this trackage. Finally, I see CSX changing their minds, and retaining Grand Rapids to their existing connection in Indiana, and Plymouth to Toledo trackage. Why not? Hey, having all the "dirty work" done by the 3 shortlines I mentioned above, all CSX has to do it direct haul GR-Chicago, and Plymouth-Toledo with little fanfare. O.K...this is just my opinion, but, if you guys have your own ideas, put 'em on here. Hey, this could be kinda' fun. Steve
