Oh yeah, lot's of Buick automobiles, went out of here, also, the power house required a lot of coal thru the 90's, before it was shuttered for natural gas.There was still a lot of AC Spark Plug traffic, Turnsted plant was going good, and, a good portion of the Saginaw traffic was routed this way instead of the old Turkey trail thru Edmore/Greenville. Don't forget, that the car ferries were winding down, but wasn't quite out yet either. All of the Thumb Ag trains moved thru here too. I recall trains being put in passing sidings in Clio, Blackmere, and Birch Run, while others passed. Good traffic back then. Doug Hefty used to dispatch this area. He can probably give you a better train count than I could. It was busy.
