The A&B interchanges with the NS at Adrian.
Now they want to access the Port of Toledo directly by rebuilding the line. But to get to the Port of Toledo, they have to use existing rail lines owned by NS.
Do they think NS is going to give up line to Ottawa Lake?
Do they think NS is going to give them track rights they need to get to the Port of Toledo?
Do they think NS is going to short haul themselves?
Do they think NS isn't going to end up taking 3 days to move the cars they shove to Ottawa Lake?
Let's see the letter of agreement that the A&B has with NS concerning how traffic will be handled if this line gets rebuilt. Of course we can't see it, because there is none. The local government and media would be well advised to consider the existence or absence of such a letter of agreement before throwing public money around.
