I think HESR interchanges with LSRR in Bay City around the old DM yard on the north east side of town. In reality, there isn't much interchanged between the two. Part of the agreement between CSX and LSRR when CSX sold the Flint to Saginaw portion of the Saginaw Sub requires LSRR to interchange directly with CSX in Flint as much as possible. Now, grain is an exception. I don't know for sure who ends up with the unit grain trains out of Auburn which is on HESR tracks, but might be put into the co-op unit trains from the thumb, which is all HESR, but a lot of those grain trains come south on LSRR into Flint, and is forwarded to CSX.
