I'm betting the business sniffers at CN are looking at how they might get some of that Detroit/Points South/Mexico business, what with the IC and more than cordial connections with KCS and NS. Could well benefit Moterm and CN. The current intermodal strategists at CN are some of the best around judging from the tremendous increase in I/M between eastern Canada and Detroit in the past two years.
And Dave, they can always use that new track to store cars from lost customers.
I wouldn't get too excited about the long term prospects for North Baltimore as a manifest block swapping yard either. It'll revert to a cornfield in 5-10 years - too many other yards not that far away will suffice.
