Huge CSX Train Roaming Around
Posted by Elba Steve on 10/12/2017, 7:57 am
Caught this dispatcher/track inspector chatter about a half an hour ago.(7:15 a.m.) Track inspector needed to get some clearance to work south to Plymouth. Dispatcher tells inspector that he doesn't want to work Plymouth right now because there is a huge 233 car train, I think she said #507 trying to get out of Rougemere yard to Plymouth. Train is over 27,000 tons, and nearly 15,000 feet long. No mention as to where it is going after Plymouth, but, I suspect it will go west to GR. Also, that loaded grain train that has been setting in Flint for the last 6 days is supposed to be moving south shortly. This train may have been waiting for track clearance to go through the hurricane impacted area around the gulf coast to continue it's movement of last Friday.
