Sorry I haven't been updating rail activity around Flint as much as I would like, but getting my yard and deck in order has taken up a lot of time lately. Anyway, here's some things that have been going on with regards to the CSX/Lake State RR the last couple of weeks. The two staple CSX trains now seem to have settled into a pretty normal schedule now. #D-735 inbounds daily from Detroit in the late afternoon to early evening. The outbound counterpart, #D-736 keeps a good departure time leaving Flint usually between 2 and 6 p.m.. I haven't noticed any #736 southbound run on Sunday. #D-737 is still coming into Flint Sun-Tue-Thur evenings doing local switching, and returns back to Plymouth around midnight lite engines. G-symbol grain grains are still running, but slowed down slightly from earlier this summer. I haven't heard any coal trains lately, but, HESR is still doing the Essexville coal hauls thru Durand right now. CSX has also ran a couple of work trains into and out of Flint, and one came into Flint this a.m., symbol #W-404. mil55 seen one of these last week, and said it was a ballast train. Port Huron trains are still running their normal schedule, and some pretty good sized trains have been running over there lately. Lake state is still very busy, and runs at least two trains into and out of Flint daily, one train in and out on Sunday. They've run some good stone counts thru Flint of late also. Alpena must be pretty busy right now. Well, that's it in a nutshell. No photo's right now, thanks to Photobucket.
