Up until the other night the Genesee & Wyoming only had four 6axle engines.
The 21661 and 2160 were former Union Pacific engines sporting UP paint.
Then the 3090 and 3090 in Genesee & Wyoming paint but lettered. For Marquette Rail (MR) service were brought to Bay City from Ludington to handle the coal trains and unit grain revenue.
Two nights ago chasing a drag of empty coal cars south through Saginaw at 2am we were shocked to discover a shiny new paint job in G&W corp colors on a 6axle engine we have never seen before. It was also wearing the corp emblem with the initials "H&E" which makes it official this new engine is in the HESR stable.
She was very quiet and almost zero labor for pulling over 100 empty coal cars solo.
Has anybody else seen this new beauty yet or know her history???
