Getting a photo of Stoneco's former GTW Geep working is almost impossible. Not only are the train movements very infrequent, but, they are pretty much confined to their few yard tracks about a quarter mile south of Carpenter Road on the west side of South McGrew yard. They were out chugging cars around this morning, and I put my little Kodak to task with the telephoto lens just about maxed out. It isn't much to go on, but, here is two photo's of the Geep working, just to prove that they still do run it on occasion. Picture #1 here, if you look directly above that pile of ties, just left of the pole, you will see the headlight of her switching some stone cars near the old blue sand tower used for her storage.
In this picture, I shot the photo a little more straight on, and if you look closely about in the lower middle of the picture, just to the right of the string of box cars, you will see the loco (headlight on) down there in front of that infamous blue sand tower. A hard to photo loco for sure. Best I could do under the circumstances today.
