Shucks, I was going to drive over to McGrew and catch a glimps of it, but, decided to fire up the grill instead, because of the prediction of 3 solid days of rain coming. Anyway, glad to have given out a little heads up for the G-765. Here's the thing. When these southbound trains call the dispatcher to get permission to open up switches, and do reverse moves against the signals, and stuff when they're putting their train together, the dispatcher codes in the necessary moves so the train can go back and forth a couple of times without any more dispatcher approvals, or fouling the signals. When they do this, the dispatcher says "just let me know when your ready to depart south". I make an educated guess as to how long it will take them to finish their work. I base that on previous departures. So, sometimes I get it close, and sometimes not so much. If I wanted to just set around my living room and wait for the crew to give that final report, then, of course I can be pretty much on departure time. But, yard work takes precedent. Anyway, good catch on the three trains today.
