I can help a little on the Millington part...no trains into Millington for about 2 and a half years. I have a photo of the last known car spotted there. It was a hopper with fertilizer, and the funny thing is, it was spotted the morning after a 10 inch snowfall. The crew had to clean out the switch. I can't post the photo right now, Photobucket is really giving my computer fits. There probably will not be any more grain loadings there, as MIOSHA has put in place some pretty stiff rules and equipment upgrade requirements for workers and the elevator itself before there can be any more loading. The elevator is way outdated, and the cost to bring it up to "code" would be far more than the small amount of loadings they were doing per year. As for more recent events, the line from Vassar to Milligton has been used for the last two years for coal hopper storage. They pretty much filled it up last year, but in the late fall, the cars were gone. I was thru there last Sunday on M-15, and there are once again, stored hoppers on the line to within a mile of Millington. And, another note here, I've been told that the short stretch of trackage from downtown Millington east to end of track is completely out of service due to lack of maintenance issues.
