More recently, I've observed the road train, usually complete with power, sitting in the south half of the St. Clair yard. At different times I've observed the power on the south end of the train (incoming train) or the north end of the train (outbound train). Considering the yard job would run down to the St. Clair yard either before or after the road job, this thing of having the yard crew run the train down might be new, or it could afford CSX the opportunity to have power available in the yard all the time, without having to run up and down the line every time something needs to be done at the north end of the line.
Come to think of it, I haven't noticed a regular time in the evening when CSX has been moving through town lately. I can hear trains on CN pretty clearly from my home in Marysville, but I don't hear that much coming from CSX. Maybe they are just running one big train each way every day.
