Well, Ron, very well stated. This reminds me of when I was a teen. 1960's era. Schools were starting to teach sex education, of course teens could opt out if their parents wrote a note excusing their kids if they felt that these kinds of things "should be taught at home." Funny how as time went on, sex education became less and less taught in the schools, but teen pregnancies continued to rise. I guess my point is that, sure, there are some pretty good parents out there that actually do commit to excellent parenting. But the truth of the matter is in today's world, a good share of parents give their kids all kinds of electronic gadgets, send them out the door and think that the whole world's answers is in the grasp of their texting skills. That's not good parenting. And, a lot of kids have this idea that bad things only happen to other people. How sad. Parents are the only one's who can change their children's view of the how's and why's they need to do things. And when they fail, they think that it's perfectly o.k. to put the blame somewhere else. I guess that is supposed to hide their guilt that they failed as a parent. Again, how sad.
