The new controlled siding in addition to Haven will be at Mt. Clemens proper. It's the old water plug track which will receive power switches, welded rail, new ballast and surfacing. At a little over half a mile, it's virtually worthless for the CN monster manifests, however, I believe its primary function will be to clear locals, work trains and equipment - and could be used for very short intermodals and freights - maybe 35 cars max. Up until the summer of 1948, the water plug was nearly 8,000', and has been truncated slowly over the decades. Probably wish they had a bit more of it left these days. Bottom line, with increased speeds coming with CTC, and a more fluid railroad, the Haven siding is really all that is necessary on a 50 mile long division.
